PRIMARY FiDi
PRIMARY FiDi, voted “Best Co-Working Space” in 2016 by Inc. Magazine, is located at Bowling Green in the Standard Oil Building and is +40,000 sqft of shared office space for health and wellness conscious professionals. The gut renovation of the floor, once three buildings, created 98 individual offices, each receiving natural light from the buildings perimeter or interior light wells, three pantry areas with adjoining community space, and meeting rooms ranging from two-person to twenty-person in size.
The concept, to create a single continuous path of travel bisected with a spine of public engagement, breaks from the co-working norm of perimeter and interior offices separated by circulation. This combination of larger and smaller offices along perimeter walls allows for a variety of new uses for potential members while allowing more substantial amounts of natural light to penetrate the floor and opens the interior space for impromptu gathering areas and member use. To further enhance the loop of circulation living wall systems and nodes of engagement were strategically introduced, allowing for brief breaks within the circuit. While the loop promotes impromptu meetings, the spine of public gathering space anchors the PRIMARY community with larger member areas at each end and showers, auxiliary space, and community seating at its core. This uninterrupted central neighborhood will allow members to grown their business network, enhance their community spheres, practice self-care within the workplace, and become the focal point for the PRIMARY brand moving forward.
