site offers up a unique opportunity and case study for large-scale, high-density development in New York City that can address both our approach to rapidly growing urban centers and our attention to the existing city fabric, historical or not. This alternative proposal to the approved plan responds to the current context and scale of brownstone Brooklyn that surrounds the site while creating a porous series of urban spaces that contribute to the vibrant street life of adjacent communities. The development, as it progresses west, responded to various contexts of nearby neighborhoods and reconciled the shifting scale by modifying its height and introducing planar public spaces at the roof of the building until the density and magnitude become too much for occupation.
