Hair and beauty salons are a unique architectural program that has, over the years, developed its own architectural language. An unspoken rule which glorifies the public display of services, like tattoo parlors or treadmills at the gym, a salon is outward facing to everyone, but it's inhabitant who is put on display for all to see. Playing on that preconceived notion why approaching it from a different angle this project is outward facing to only those inhabitants who currently occupy it, selling a product to those who already wish to buy their services to provide a certain level of privacy and intimacy in a program often void of such relationships.
